Vulnerabilities and opportunities for the sustainable development of the Andros island Natura 2000 sites will be identified through an extensive field work and workshops with local stakeholders. This will lead to the production of:
- a Policy Brief, which will include a concise summary of the identified vulnerabilities and opportunities, the options available to policy and decision makers and recommendations on the most promising options.
- a “Best practices Guide”, which will be produced and distributed to local stakeholders groups. The guide will propose the most appropriate ways to (a) ensure the Andros Island Natura 2000 sites are preserved while at the same time the local socioeconomic context is respected and sustained and (b) the conflicts that may arise are addressed and resolved.
- a manual for the establishment of the “Andros Brand” trademark, which is prerequisite for the establishment and operation of Andros Brand biodiversity trademank for fishing products.
- a technical plan for the establishment of ecotourism information desk for the promotion of the fishing tourism on Andros.
